When is a thread lift indicated?
The lifting with tensor threads is indicated when the main change experienced by the face is loss of firmness and progressive tissue decline, rather than the appearance of deep wrinkles or loss of volume.
Patients often begin to notice that the jawline loses definition, the cheeks droop slightly or the facial contours become less structured. In these cases, thread lifts can offer a visible improvement without the need for surgery.
This treatment is usually considered in situations of mild or moderate flaccidity, especially in the middle and lower third of the face. More than age, the determining factor is the quality of the skin and the degree of sagging of the tissues.
How tensor threads work
Mechanism of action: immediate effect and collagen stimulation
The tensor threads are reabsorbable threads that are inserted under the skin using minimally invasive techniques, following specific vectors that allow the tissues to be repositioned. The treatment works on two levels:
- Immediate mechanical effect: The threads allow the tissues to be slightly repositioned by means of controlled traction, improving facial contours from the very first moment.
- Progressive biological effect: Over time, collagen is stimulated around the thread, which helps to improve the firmness and quality of the skin.
This double effect means that the result is not only immediate, but also progressive.
Combined treatments with lifting with tensor threads
Facial ageing is a multifactorial process. For this reason, in many cases thread lifting is combined with other treatments to obtain a more complete result. Among the most common combinations:
- Hyaluronic acid, to restore volume to the cheekbones or chin
- Neuromodulators, to treat expression wrinkles
- Biostimulation treatments, to improve skin quality
In this approach, the threads act on flaccidity, while the other treatments address volume and muscle dynamics. The combination is always defined on an individual basis.
