Rhinoplasty is performed for both aesthetic and functional reasons, although in most cases both are combined. The nose surgery can range from a small tip touch-up to a complete nasal reconstruction.

Types of rhinoplasty
What type of rhinoplasty is right for each patient?
The subject, the physiognomy of the cartilage, the type of dermis and the prevailing functional deficiencies are fundamental elements in opting for the most suitable rhinoplasty procedure for each patient. At Dr. Richard Fakin's clinics, we analyse the exact indications for each case and propose the most suitable technique, whether open or closed rhinoplasty, depending on whether other collateral interventions (e.g. on the septum) are necessary.
We also analyse whether we need to opt for a cartilage graft of our own (autograft) or a third-party graft (not our own).
Surgical Technique
How is rhinoplasty surgery performed?
Rhinoplasty is performed in most cases under general anaesthesia supplemented with local infiltration to increase postoperative comfort. Depending on the type of permanent rhinoplasty the approach adopted is the latest generation L-postion.
The splint is removed 10 days after the operation.
