Prosthetic shape options available at our clinics
Round: With a sphere configuration, it ensures a balanced volume between the upper and lower chest.
Anatomical: Simulates the natural shape of the breast, offering greater relief in the lower area.
Ergonomic: It has the capacity to transform its shape according to the patient's position (rounder when lying down and more anatomical when sitting up), behaving in a similar way to a mammary gland.

Implant placement
There are three planes of positioning with respect to the pectoralis major muscle:
- Subglandular: under the mammary gland.
- Submuscular: under the pectoralis major muscle.
- Dual: the upper pole is covered by muscle and the lower pole by gland.
Incision routes
Inframammary fold: scar in the lower groove of the breast.
Periareolar: border between areola and skin.
Transaxillary: through the armpit, keeping the breast free of visible scars.

How do we choose the size and type of implant in breast augmentation?
At Dr. Fakin's practice we assess your chest width, breast base, skin elasticity and personal preferences. Using testers or 3D simulation when necessary, we define the size, shape and projection of the implant that best suits your body.
Is the implant placed above or below the muscle?
Implants can be placed in a subglandular, subfascial or submuscular position. The decision depends on tissue coverage, physical activity, aesthetic goals and risk of capsular contracture.
What scars does breast augmentation leave and where are the incisions made?
The most common approaches are through the submammary fold, the areola or, in selected cases, the axilla. We aim for short incisions and meticulous closure to achieve discreet scars.
Can breast augmentation be combined with mastopexy if there is sagging?
Yes, when there is ptosis, we can combine augmentation with mastopexy to reposition the nipple-areola complex and achieve a firmer and better shaped breast. In our clinic we evaluate whether this procedure can be performed safely in a single intervention.
What is the recovery like after breast augmentation?
Light daily activities are possible within a few days. Sport can usually be resumed gradually after 4 to 6 weeks, while intense breast training is delayed a little longer. We always recommend a supportive post-operative bra and regular check-ups.
