Surgical nipple reconstruction techniques and scar location
To correct an inverted nipple, a small incision is made at the base of the nipple. This approach frees the inverted tissue and secures the nipple in its new position using a percutaneous suture.
In some cases, and as an alternative, fat injection may be recommended to prevent duct retraction and reduce the risk of recurrence.
The resulting scar is located at the base of the nipple and is typically nearly imperceptible.
