Microneedling facial for skin improvement
Treatment to rejuvenate skin and improve skin quality
MADRID | ZURICH
Skin quality is one of the key factors in the perception of facial ageing. Beyond wrinkles or flaccidity, aspects such as irregular texture, lack of luminosity or loss of uniformity have a direct influence on the appearance of the face.
Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment designed to improve these aspects by naturally stimulating the skin.
Through controlled microperforations, the skin regeneration process is activated, favouring the production of collagen and progressively improving the quality of the skin.
In the practice of Dr. Richard Fakin, microneedling is used as a tool for optimising texture, providing radiance and reinforcing the dermal structure, always within a medical and personalised approach.
The aim is not to transform the face, but to improve the quality of the skin in a progressive and natural way.

Instructions
When is microneedling indicated?
Microneedling is indicated when the objective is to improve the quality of the skin, rather than to modify the facial structure. It is often used on patients with dull, uneven skin texture or early signs of ageing. In clinical practice, microneedling is used to treat:
- lack of luminosity and uneven tone
- enlarged pores
- fine surface lines
- mild scars (such as acne)
- uneven texture on the face, neck or décolleté
It can also be applied to hands or other areas where skin quality is to be improved. Rather than a one-off treatment, it is often part of a progressive approach to skin improvement.
How it works
How microneedling works: dermal stimulation and collagen production
The procedure consists of controlled micro-perforations of the skin using fine needles that penetrate different layers of the skin.
These micro-injuries activate the body's natural self-healing process, stimulating the production of new collagen fibres and promoting tissue regeneration.
In addition, the treatment improves the absorption of active ingredients such as vitamins or platelet-rich plasma (PRP), The regenerative effect is boosted. After the first session, the process of new collagen formation begins, which continues to develop progressively.
Results
What results can be expected
Microneedling gradually improves the quality of the skin. After the treatment, it is common to notice a fresher and more luminous skin in the first few days. As the regeneration process progresses, the skin becomes more even-textured, firmer and healthier looking. The result is neither immediate nor artificial, but progressive and in accordance with the biology of the skin.
Evolution and number of sessions
After the first session, the skin may show an initial improvement in luminosity and freshness. However, the most significant results appear progressively, as collagen production is activated.
For optimal results, a protocol of several sessions is usually recommended, typically between 3 and 4 treatments over a period of 6 to 12 months.
The aim is to achieve a gradual improvement, maintained over time and in accordance with the biology of the skin.
Combined treatments with microneedling
Microneedling is often integrated into an overall approach to facial rejuvenation, as skin quality is only one of the factors involved in ageing.
Depending on each case, it can be combined with other treatments that act on complementary aspects:
- Hyaluronic acid, when there is loss of volume in areas such as cheekbones or chin
- Neuromodulators, if expression wrinkles predominate
- PRP (platelet-rich plasma), to enhance skin regeneration
- Peelings or lasers, aimed at improving skin tone and texture
In this way, microneedling acts as a base to improve skin quality, while the other treatments address volume, firmness and muscle dynamics.
The combination is always defined on an individual basis, depending on the characteristics of the skin and the patient's goals.
