Breast lipofilling is an aesthetic surgery technique that uses the patient’s own fat to enhance, redefine, or improve the shape of the breasts. In this procedure, fat is extracted from areas where the patient has excess deposits, such as the abdomen, thighs, or hips, using liposuction. Subsequently, the fat is purified and processed to ensure the viability of the cells before being injected into the breast area.

One of its main advantages is the use of autologous tissue, which eliminates the risk of rejection or complications associated with synthetic implants. Additionally, since it does not leave large scars and utilizes the patient’s own tissue, the result is very natural in appearance and texture. It can also be combined with other procedures, such as mastopexy (breast lift), to achieve even greater aesthetic harmony.

Breast lipofilling not only allows for an increase in volume but can also correct asymmetries and improve skin quality, as the injected fat contains growth factors that promote tissue regeneration. In summary, it is a minimally invasive method that offers long-lasting and natural results, making it an attractive option for those looking to enhance their silhouette without resorting to external materials.

Breast Lift surgical techniques and scar types

Breast Lipotransfer is carried out in three main phases:

  1. Fat Extraction: Liposuction is performed in areas where the patient has excess fat, such as the abdomen, thighs, or hips. This step allows for obtaining fat tissue that will later be used in breast reconstruction or augmentation.

  2. Purification and Preparation: The extracted fat is subjected to a centrifugation and filtering process to remove impurities and non-viable fragments. This treatment ensures that the fat cells are as healthy as possible to achieve a higher survival rate after injection.

  3. Injection into the Breast: Once the fat is prepared, it is injected into the breasts using fine cannulas. This application is carried out in various layers and strategic areas to achieve a natural result, improve shape, and correct asymmetries with minimal scarring.

This method, by using autologous tissue, provides results that harmoniously integrate with the rest of the body and promotes tissue regeneration, achieving an aesthetic and natural appearance.

Postoperative care after a mastopexy intervention

The recovery time following a breast lipofilling is generally brief. Typically, patients are advised to avoid high-impact activities and to wear a supportive bra for the first 2 to 4 weeks to help promote the integration of the fat. During the initial days, it is common to experience some swelling and mild discomfort, which usually subside within a few days, allowing for a gradual return to daily activities.

Additional alternatives to Breast Lift Surgery

The main advantages of fat grafting include achieving natural results and a harmonious integration of autologous tissue in the breast, which eliminates the risks associated with synthetic implants. Additionally, this procedure can improve the quality of the skin due to the growth factors present in the fat. As additional alternatives, fat grafting can be combined with other techniques—for example, performing a mastopexy (breast lift) to elevate the breast or integrating fat grafts with implants—to optimize both volume and shape, tailored to the specific needs of each patient.
