Rhinoplasty
PD Dr. Richard Fakin / Plastic Surgery / Rhinoplasty
Nose surgery
Madrid | Zurich
Rhinoplasty is performed for both aesthetic and functional reasons, although in most cases both aspects come together. Nasal surgery can range from a small tip refinement to a complete nasal reconstruction.
The anatomical configuration of the nose, along with the delicacy and subtle variations in the design of the bones, cartilage, and soft tissues, ensures that each case is unique and requires a personalized evaluation. Rhinoplasty primarily addresses aesthetic imperfections of the nose while also improving respiratory function, and it can be combined with other procedures such as septoplasty, blepharoplasty, mentoplasty, etc.
This intervention can be carried out as a single procedure or in combination with various facial and body treatments. Preoperative sessions focus on planning the aesthetic harmony and bony architecture, taking into account gender and facial proportions.
For an optimal and natural aesthetic result, it is essential to interpret the shape and structure of the nose in relation to the entire face.

What rhinoplasty technique is best for each patient?
La sujeta (the subject), the cartilage’s morphology, the type of skin, and the prevailing functional deficiencies ha a mi total are fundamental factors in choosing the most appropriate rhinoplasty procedure for each patient. At Dr. Richard Fakin’s clinics, we thoroughly analyze the precise indications for each case and recommend the most suitable technique—whether open or closed rhinoplasty—depending on whether other collateral interventions (e.g., on the septum) are required.
We also evaluate whether we need to opt for a cartilage autograft or a non-autologous graft.
